• Ship: Shipped the trading pipeline redesign that took query latency from minutes to sub-30ms (wrote this one up as a full post).
• Learn: Materialized views aren’t automatically schema-safe — a column added to a source table can silently stop propagating into a view without explicit migration discipline.

• Ship: Extended a permissions-audit harness to cover every mutation endpoint on the nonprofit’s admin platform, as part of porting it onto a modern stack.
• Learn: Resolving a large merge against an in-flight rewrite is a good forcing function for finding gaps in test coverage you didn’t know you had.

2026-04-28

• Ship: Rebuilt the tournament-data ingestion workflow for the Magic side project with proper job lifecycle management (job IDs, retries) instead of a fire-and-forget script.
• Learn: Chaining rating updates (Elo-style) needs the same ingestion discipline as any other pipeline — idempotency and lifecycle tracking, not just “run it again if it fails.”
